The day honestly didn't start off well but let's not talk about that, shall we?
Met up with Xuan @ the bus stop in front of Eunos MRT station by 10:30am (Nabilah couldn't join us because her stomach problems were acting up again, sigh, I hope you're feeling better babe! love ya, xx) I was awaiting his arrival when he suddenly scared me from behind and I got a shock (he sure got a good laugh out of it). Then, when bus 93 arrived, we boarded it. Xuan didn't wanna tell me where we were going as he said he wanted it to be a surprise but halfway through the bus ride, I made a wild guess as to where he was taking me and it appears that I was right!
|
This is where Xuan took me or rather, this is a picture of a part of the place he brought me to.
If you haven't guessed it yet, this is none other than Macritchie Reservoir! |

mandatory scenic shot of the place |
We reached Macritchie around 11:15am or so? And we spent around 2hours++ there, walking around, taking pictures, talking and basically, l e p a k (hahahaha). We talked about a lot of things during the bus ride as well and I got kinda emotional a few times during both the bus ride and while we were walking to Macritchie. But, Xuan promptly calmed me down and made me feel better in a matter of seconds/minutes.
|
told ya the day didn't start off well for me
to add on, i didn't get enough sleep cause i came home in the wee hours of the morning thanks to the crowd that i got stuck in after the countdown ytd |
|
i clearly didn't want my ugly face to be in a picture but - |

the serene waters~~~ |
Xuan brought me to his 'secret spot' at Macritchie Reservoir and we spent a few minutes chillin' in the comfy chairs there

idk it seemed pretty pleasing to my eyes |

Then, we decided to continue exploring the area and we crossed this bridge thingy which overlooked the shallow banks of the reservoir. There were icky-looking seaweed in the waters; too icky to for me not to snap pictures of them HAHA (I'm so weird).

We got caught in the rain which started pouring out of nowhere while we were there. We ran to the nearest shelter to get away from the rain and dry ourselves off. There, we talked even more, really sharing our innermost feelings about several matters. It feels really nice to have someone you can talk h2h to, especially when in person cause you can actually see the person listening to you as your express yourself and you get the warm feeling knowing that somebody is actually willing to hear you out; it's unexplainable, really. Words can't describe how much I love this boy to bits.
After the rain subsided, we went to sit at one of the pavilions. Hahaha oh god, we talked even more and this time, we discussed new year resolutions. I guess the whole new year thing just gets to everyone in general, every year; no surprise there. Well, we had alot to catch up on since we hadn't met since the 26th and hadn't talked much with each other since then cause he's been so busy with work.
We just proceeded to take pictures after that, hahaha. I only got to snap one photo of Xuan cause he rather be my photographer than the other way round ): But don't get it wrong okay, I take really good pictures!! Proof would be the first picture below this paragraph:
|
took this solo shot for xuan while he was seated at the pavilion!!
isn't it freaking nice?!?!?!?! |
Up next: unglam + slightly decent photos of me, courtesy of He Wei Xuan.

hah, unglam again |
|

|
spastic face, gah |
By then, I kept telling Xuan that we should leave Macritchie and go somewhere else cause we only had a few hours left before I was due home ): We were on our way out of the place until Xuan persuaded me to visit Lim Bo Seng's tomb-cum-memorial since it was nearby. It's cool to have visited the tomb of one of Singapore's greatest World War 2 heroes. Lim Bo Seng was truly a great man, I remember learning about his contributions and sacrifices for the country during Social Studies lessons in primary school. #memories
Snapped self-timer shots together before finally leaving Macritchie Reservoir (-:

So yeah, we walked out of the place to the nearest bus stop and our initial plan was to head to Junction 8 since I've never been there before but when I checked the bus directory and realized how super far Junction 8 was from Macritchie, I changed my mind. We then decided to go to the nearest MRT station which was Marymount station so we sat down and waited for the bus. 3 mins before it arrived, I realized that if we took the same bus at the opposite bus stop, we could go to Harbourfront MRT station and have lunch @ Vivocity so we took the overhead bridge in order to get to the opposite bus stop. Xuan asked me to check how many stops it would take to get to Harbourfront and I was like, "It seems like a few stops only" till I actually counted the number of stops which amounts to 27 (I crey). We decided to stop @ Farrer Road MRT stn and take the train to Harbourfront instead as it is a quicker alternative.
((haha wow, that was a mouthful, anyways....))
((if you've noticed, yes, our entire outing today was pretty much impromptu at its best, hahahaha))
When we reached Vivo, guess who we saw! SYAZWAN. HAHAHAHAH. The first time I saw Syazwan in real life and damnnnnn, he's tall and buff. Oh, and his eyes are really tiny, HAHAHAH no hard feelings syaz :b I called out his name but he didn't hear me so I felt paiseh and then Xuan started shouting 'Syaz! Syaz! Hey Syaz!" and idky but I felt really malu so I just quietly sneaked away to the Macs nearby, outta sight while Xuan talked to Syaz for awhile, in the presence of a couple of YMC people who were there with Syaz, haha talk about awkwarddddd. Xuan was like, "I'm here with Amiraaaaaa- wait, where did she go?!?!" Hahahahais, I'm so sorry I fled the scene babe, I just felt very malu I swear ): I'm sorry I left you in an awkward fix ): Xuan looked super adorbz when he was all flustered, looking around for me in the sea of people there. I couldn't stand seeing him all panicky so I went up to him shortly after. The YMC people caught sight of me but Syaz didn't (maybe cause his eyes very small ah) HAHAHAH okay sorry Syaz, sorry, I just can't help it ><
We proceeded to Golden Village to check if tickets for 'Delivery Man' were still available. Well, they were but the seats were not good ones so I appealed to Xuan not to waste money on such poor seating. Moving on, we wanted to eat @ Sedap at Vivocity but we decided to eat @ Banquet instead, which is at Harbourfront (it's nearby Vivo, jsyk). However, while we were walking there, idk how but we suddenly talked about Seoul Garden HotPot and Xuan wanted to try it out as he'd never eaten there before so yeah, we ended up eating there in the end!
Okay so ya, after that, idky but Xuan kept bugging me to go into clothes shop like Forever21 and browse through clothes but I really didn't feel like spending my money on clothes so I dragged him to Candy Empire instead!! Hehehe. Walked out of there soon enough after getting $2 worth of chewy Gobstopper!! Almost everything was on sale so everything was really cheap including the Gobstopper, yay!
|
idky the picture won't rotate but yeah, here u go |
Took the train down to Dhoby Gaut and then changed train so we could get to City Hall! We headed to Esplanade which is like our typical hangout when we don't know where else to go and lepak, hahaha. Xuan bought Mountain Dew from one of the outdoor stalls for us to share!! n_______n
|
$1.80 Mountain Dew, abit ex ah |
|
had to snap a pic of the floating white balls which contained the new year wishes of many people
Xuan & I had written on two of the balls before around a month and a half ago
we both wondered where exactly our balls were in the sea of balls
((by balls i don't mean it in the sick way okay)) |
Sadly, towards the end of the day, I started being all pms-y and very difficult to handle. I couldn't help myself, I do not know why. I badly wanted to stop being sad + angry at the same time but I just couldn't stop the whirlpool of emotions, I felt terrible. Yet again, I put Xuan in a really awkward fix; he really didn't know what to do to make me feel better. Sigh, I'm sorry babe. I honestly do not know what got into me back there, I'm really really sorry. I love you and you know that.
Xuan sent me home and a few mins after he left, I phoned him in a hurry, asking where he was and he said he was under my block. I asked him to come back to take polaroids with me because I really wanted to take polaroids to remember the 1st day of 2014 by. We took the following polaroids outside my house corridor in about 5 mins or so, hahaha. Finally managed to get myself to smile after feeling all shitty previously.
|
was upset that the random lock of hair on my neck totally ruined the polaroid on the left ):
i'm also sad that my baby hair is so obvious in both polaroids, meh
nevertheless, they were taken with the best person in my life ♡ |
I really couldn't bear to part ways with Xuan today, I was just feeling too sentimental & emotional...
Is this a sign that my time of the month is approaching? Damn, I just wished the symptoms didn't show up on the first day of the year which was also my first outing of the year with Xuan :-/
I made a collage of some of the pictures taken today to sum up the day!
I can't decide between the non-edited & edited one so here's both! Hahaha.
|
posted this one on insta w/ the following caption! |
"blessed to have had the company of someone who's absolutely dear to me, on the first day of the new year ❤ here's to (hopefully) many more outings, more good food, more polaroid-worthy moments, scenic views as well as unglam snapshots!! 2014, bring it on!!"
