Got le Tobz to send me the rest of the pictures we took at le student service centre @ Henderson Road just now! We didn't take much though for we just snapped a few shots before going off that's all. I really hope to take more pictures with them in the future though!! I wanna take pictures with Tobz/Sheena/Dana/Celine/Yui Fei/ Farhana/Sisi!!! That shall totally go on my bucket list before I leave Crescent TENENENENE.
Anyways, to just continue on about what happened at the place, I met this 9 year old Malay girl, Diyana/Diyanah (idk how to spell her name cause this was the first time we ever met? haha)
She was washing art materials with le Tobz at first and then when she turned around to look at me, she was like, "You Malay eh?" I replied, "Haha yessss." And she was like, "YAY YAY!" HAHAHA so cutesy (":
I spent most of my time with her cause she really stuck to me like glueeeee, not even kidding. I gave her stickers and she was really happy heh. She refused to go out and do outdoor activities with the rest cause she was scared to go out in the heat since she was fasting so I just went according to her wishes hmm. She asked for the teacher if she could have a piece of drawing block to stick the stickers on. While she was busy with her "masterpiece", I commented in malay but I shall translate it to English hahaha.
Me: That's very nice! Then you can go home and hang it up in your room! ^^
She: Err...room? I have no room haissss.
Me: No room? Why? :(
She: I have to sleep outside while my dad and siblings sleep inside the only room we have for ours is a 1-room unit.
Me: Ohhh...I'm sorry adik :(
She: It's ok kakak!
Me: Hehe maybe you can put it under your pillow instead :P
She: Under my pillow? Then later it'll come to life at night!!
Me: Really?? :O
She: Yes, really! Fasting month cannot lie so why would I be lying!
Me: HAHA OMG REALLY AH?
She: NO LAH ALAMAK, liddat also you believe hahahaha.
Me: EHH!!!! >:
P.S. 'adik' means like younger sister/brother while 'kakak' means older sister.
Talking to her made me feel like an actual older sister. It's like I was conversing with the little sister I never had and it meant alot cause I've always wanted one so badly. Hearing her plight, it kinda triggered that emotional factor in me cause it made me realise, "Dammit, it's time you appreciate what you've been blessed with Lim Amira Syuhada Bte Mazlan!!"
Diyana/Diyanah asked me if I was gonna come back next time and I asked her, "Do you want me to?" and hahahais, she nodded her head so vigorously and with a wide smile. I felt so touched okay because it's like I just got to know her and yet, she treats me so nicely (":
Oh yeah, there was this random Chinese girl (I think her name is Cheryl, haha) who came up to me and was like, "YOU MALAY AH?"
Naturally, yet again, I said, "HAHA yes I am!"
She then exclaimed so very loudly, "YOU VERY CUTE LEH."
And then she ran off to play basketball outside HAHAHAIS OMG THAT TOTALLY MADE MY DAY OK :') The teachers, some of my classmates and some of the kids there started laughing aiyayai xD
Diyana/Diyanah then said to me, "Yes kakak, you've very pretty and cute, really!"
I replied, "No omg where got haha."
Diyana/Diyanah responded, "YES REALLY!! ADIK NOT BLUFFING!"
I literally blushed like one red tomato dammit. K.
Basically, the one common question most of the kids asked me was, "You Malay ah?"
LIKE SRSLY, DO I LOOK LIKE AN ALIEN OR SOMETHING? HAHAHAHA.
Another younger Malay girl approached me after seeing the stickers I gave Diyana/Diyanah and asked if she could have the Hello Kitty stickers which I brought along so yeppp, I gave her the last of it! The kids are there are known to be problematic cause they come from complicated backgrounds which is true la hmm. There was this boy who almost picked up a fight with the younger girl and I had to step in.
So, this is how it went:
Me: -slight smile- Put down the slipper.
Him: Why should I? You think you who sia?!
Me: -smiles again- Alright, you don't wanna listen then fine~
Him -shuts up-
It's kinda interesting as to how I didn't blow my top like how I'd usually do, especially when I'm dealing with problematic, bitchy kids. But, I guess I learnt to be more patient and understanding during this fasting month? Or maybe that's just my point of view hahaha.
Hmm to put it in a nutshell, I guess I've learnt alot from the short time frame of 1hr and 30mins when I was there. I learnt to be more appreciative of what I have. I learnt that although those children may put on such 'gangster-ish' fronts, they're actually really nice kids. It's just that they were probably influenced by the bad 'environment' they grew up in and all. You just have to know how to deal with them, correctly.
I really wanna go back and help out again; simply, to just spend time with the kids and get to know them better. I want them to know that there will be always be someone who's gonna be there for them when they need that someone and hey, I don't mind being that someone.
My life may be f-ed up but if I can help to lessen their problems in any way possible, then why not?
Alright, shall stop here for now! x
-scurries to mummy's room to share with her about my cip experience, kekeke-
